<image:title>rabbit holes - Rabbit Holes A collaboration with BBC R+D</image:title>
<image:caption>“Rabbit Holes Collective involves a group of artists and creative professionals exploring adaptive podcasting to create unique content and invite (especially young) people to metaphorically ‘fall down a rabbit hole’ to connect more deeply with nature. Individuals discover how they can use adaptive technologies to create podcasts unique to the listener and their context.” - Dr Penny Hay, BBC Research & Development is supporting the Collective in new ways of sharing ideas via digital and emerging technologies, creating peer-to-peer connections and networks of learning and support. Working alongside artists and technologists, the Collective aims to constructively disrupt and reimagine possibilities for digital collaboration by developing ideas in different immersive and sensorial technology. We expect podcasts to be released in the year 2022. More to follow…</image:caption>

<image:caption>★★★★ - Guardian “They’re sayin I brought it on myself. Oh yeah, they’ve heard about me. Basically it must’ve been my fault cause I’m me, Destiny” Destiny dreams big. She’s gonna be an MTV Base backing dancer, you watch. If J-Lo can make it outta the Bronx then Destiny can make it off the Hill Rise estate in Chippenham. She’s fearless, ferocious and up for the fight (she’s had to be). Born below the breadline, she’s desperate to see beyond the neighbourhood and find hope in hopelessness. This semi-autobiographical monologue follows the story of a teenage girl growing up on a rural Wiltshire council estate. After a big night out takes a turn for the worse, Destiny’s life spirals out of control as she desperately tries to learn how to love and be loved. DESTINY was shortlisted for Theatre West’s ‘Write On Women’ Award and The Pleasance’s ‘Edinburgh National Partnerships’ Award (in partnership with Bristol Old Vic Ferment). It has been developed with support from Tobacco Factory Theatres, Bristol Old Vic Ferment, Pound Arts, Strike a Light, Wiltshire Creative, Natural Theatre, Paper Arts, Theatre Bristol, Hawkwood College, Arts Council England and Gane Trust. <image:caption>“May your day be dry, and your home be high.” A wall of water crashed over the city, so powerful nothing could stop it. House Of Noah Tours invites you to meet the people who live in its wake. This is a tour of Oxford – but not the one you see in postcards. Eco-warriors fight for the future, and the all-powerful House of Noah watches over a waterlogged world. But what’s really going on, behind the scenes? Are your guides showing you the full story? And how can we find hope again? Join us to take back the city. Atlantis is a brand new play, created in collaboration between professional artists and members of the community as part of Hidden Spire. It has brought people together over the last tumultuous year, and the result promises to be an extraordinary moment of live theatre. Production images by Simon Vail</image:caption>

<image:caption>It’s 1994. Christmas Lights switch on. On 34 Seymour Street in Trowbridge, Angel and Noel are gearing up for their best Christmas yet. Angel wants an Action Man Mission Extreme and a t-shirt with Brian Harvey’s face. Noel wants a new Tamagotchi (he forgot to feed his last one) and a Trowbridge Town FC Subbuteo set. Dad just wants to play crazy golf indoors, same as every year. Mum wants to go somewhere, on a train, anywhere really, except here. But first they have to see Marti Pellow turn the lights on. Miracle on 34 Seymour Street follows Angel and Noel as they journey through the decades, from 1994 to today. From childhood to adulthood. From East 17 to Rage Against The Machine, Home Alone to Love Actually. A heartwarming story of a family trying to recapture the memory of an idealised Christmas, and of everyday miracles. Taking inspiration from stories shared by Trowbridge residents (and a few festive films), Miracle on 34 Seymour Street is a funny original play with songs that will leave you yearning for Christmases past that may never have existed.</image:caption>

<image:title>undergrowth - underGrowth A collaboration with Dr Tommaso Jucker & Dr Tom Mitchel</image:title>
<image:caption>Unearthing the intelligence of forest communication networks in a collaboration between sound & science. underGrowth is a project dedicated to providing new pathways into listening to our natural world; namely forests. Utilising bespoke technology, oak tree seedlings will have their scientific data translated into sound whilst they are experiencing drought. The goal of the project is not only to give us insight into how forests feel and adapt, but to quantify how much carbon forests are capturing from the atmosphere and how this is affected by extreme climate events. A combination of precise on-ground measurements of seasonal tree growth with local climate data and remote sensing imagery will be collected from both drones and satellites.</image:caption>

<image:caption>In 2019 Tobacco Factory Theatres 'Young Theatre Makers Perform' Company started working creatively on what it meant to challenge the status quo. What it meant to be kind and what it meant to be an ensemble. Over the following months they explored Joe White's play 'Navajos'. Their production was cut short by the global pandemic so they decided to make an honest film as a response. The Little Things is an honest exploration of friendship, youthful energy and asks questions about the role of young people in our current political climate.</image:caption>

<image:title>forms of intelligence - Forms of Intelligence a film by Knowle West Media Centre Director & Producer Martha King Composer & Sound Designer Joseff Harris Director of Photography & Editor Alistair Campbell Associate Filmmaker Dee Hassan Card Designer Kaajal Modi Podcast Creators Tatiana Powell & Lewis Campbell What can we learn from animal & plant intelligence? Through 2020 community activists, artists, and researchers, with specialisms in: spiders, trees, funghi, butterflies, soil, bees, dogs, birds, robotics and visual arts, were invited to participate in on and offline co-creation activities facilitated by Martha King (Arts Programme Manager at KWMC) and Nicole Foster (researcher at DCRC). Participants received physical packages in the post, including magnifying glasses & binoculars. After meeting online they paired up and set each other creative challenges to help them explore ‘intelligence’ from a perspective they weren’t familiar with: for example, birdwatchers learned about insect intelligence and tree champions about butterflies! Raising thought-provoking questions such as what is ‘success’ for a bird? The whole group took part in online co-creation sessions attempting to think through the perspective of other species and imagine new systems designed to benefit all living things. The insights from the co-creation activities were transformed into a beautifully illustrated set of inspiration cards for co-species care, by artist Kaajal Modi. Designed to help us think differently, see from different perspectives, and deeply consider who or what is being impacted by our decisions. As part of the project, we also created a series of podcast interviews with people from Knowle West, Bristol, Berlin, Kent, and Colombia. Knowle West resident and digital intern Tatiana Powell made the podcasts, having to record them remotely through lockdown, supported by KWMC producer Lewis Campbell. What have you really done? It’s been… I hardly recognise you mate.” A cliffside hangout. A friendship. A forgotten town. Summer 2013, a warm evening by the sea. James is home from University with his new girlfriend Charlotte. John, James’ best friend, can’t wait to reunite. Until they do. Something is changing, something seismic. And none of them knows how significant this day will be for the rest of their lives… A story spanning eight years, If. Destroyed. Still. True. shines a stark light on life between the cracks, and asks what happens when the place you were born can no longer be called home. Identity, class and cultures clash as life pulls childhood best mates apart. We bear witness to what we stand to lose when we cannot truly communicate, and the lengths to which we must go to find peace… If. Destroyed. Still. True. is the debut production from JAWBONES Theatre, telling the epic stories in everyday lives. Production images by Alex Brenner ©</image:caption>

<image:caption>★★★★ - The Times ★★★★ - Whats on Stage ★★★★ - Reviews Hub ★★★★ - The Stage A night at the opera ends with a shock for mild-mannered couple Maurice and Rosemary Ransome when they open their front door to discover their flat completely empty. From light bulbs to carpets to toilet paper, even their chicken casserole has been stolen. The Ransomes turn detective to try and work out who is behind this outrageous act, and why and how they did it. Along the way, they are forced to examine their lives when stripped bare of the worldly possessions that define us all. Should they rebuild their old life, or begin afresh? A bittersweet exploration of marriage, dreams and lives unlived, Adrian Scarborough’s adaptation brings Bennett’s hilarious story to the stage for the first time, capturing his trademark observational wit in this gentle and darkly surprising tale. <image:title>see monster - SEE MONSTER</image:title>
<image:caption>SEE MONSTER is a retired rig from the North Sea, transformed into one of the UK’s largest public art installations to inspire global conversations about reuse, renewables and the great British weather. As part of the installation, Weathering Together was created. It is an immersive audio experience by artist Joseff Harris, which is created from the eclectic voices of Weston-super-Mare. It is centered around home, how our environment forms our identity and how human impact on the natural world is dramatically changing the landscapes we know and love. With original composition and sound design, the piece will transport you through vivid memories and nostalgia, but it will also look towards the voices of the future. Joseff Harris is a South-West based composer, sound artist and audio producer working across theatre, film and audio. His work is driven by how sound can tap into our subconscious and carry us to vivid worlds, both real and abstract. The natural world plays an integral role in his work, embracing both its calm and chaos, resulting in compelling and moving scores. The immersive audio piece is recommended to be listened to through headphones. Created in partnership with Culture Weston.</image:caption>

When the six head to the cornfield on Miller Road — their favorite high school spot for a night of drinking and catching up — it doesn’t take long before someone winds up…dead. With no clear motive and no one stepping forward, the five remaining classmates are thrown into a clusterfuck investigation among themselves.</image:caption>

<image:caption>“And what news of London Town, Paddy? This Walworth Road off the Elephant and Castle paint me a picture of this boulevard and its surrounding environs.” Holed up in a flat on the Walworth Road, Sean and Blake diligently recite their father Dinny’s lines as they daily re-enact the moment they fled their home in Ireland. But today’s performance is going to be different: Dinny’s got a rage on because there’s a sausage and Ryvita in place of the chicken dinner, Sean’s head’s not been in it since he came back from Tescos, and the three men are about to receive an unexpected visitor… This new revival of Enda Walsh’s hilarious and shocking farce is the first major production to take place at Southwark Playhouse’s brand-new venue at Elephant and Castle, sited, aptly, at the foot of the Walworth Road. Desperate, drunk, and grappling with chronic loneliness, Malkin unexpectedly befriends a man. That man is an inflatable sex doll. Created by Gemma Aked-Priestley, Malkin playfully and provocatively explores sexual objectification and toxic aspiration from the perspective of a working-class woman. With lashings of existentialism and surrealism, Malkin is a genre-twisting beast unafraid to dance to the beat of its own drum. With Tik-Tok and The Ellen Show sensation Actor-Comedian Rachel Harper in the titular role, Malkin is a hilarious and heart-breaking love letter to millennial women. Malkin is currently undergoing Post Production. *Malkin: (now archaic, regional) A stereotypical name for a lower-class or uncultured woman; a kitchenmaid; a slattern, wench, drab, slut.</image:caption>

We and She is the local landscape’ Half submerged in a cramped bathtub and flooded by her grief, Beth decides to walk the South West Coast Path – in choosing to walk, grow, and to reclaim space, she finds radical joy. Using lyrical movement and projections of the Coast Path, Right Of Way explores our intimate connection with the coastline, bodies of water and our heritage. <image:caption>A four-part series for BBC Radio 4. Frank Bascombe, in The Sportswriter, his unguarded voice instantly wins us over and pulls us into a life that has been irrevocably changed—by the loss of a marriage, a career, a child. We then follow Frank, ever laconic and observant, through Independence Day and The Lay of the Land, witnessing his fortune’s rise and his family’s fragmentation. With finely honed prose and an eye that captures the most subtle nuances of the human condition—all its pathos and beauty and strangeness—Ford transforms this ordinary man’s life into a riveting, moving parable of life in America today. Now, in Let Me Be Frank with You, Frank sits in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. In four richly luminous narratives, Frank attempts to reconcile, interpret and console a world undone by calamity.</image:caption>

Plagued by the ghosts of his ancestors and abandoned by his lover, AIDS-infected Prior Walter is visited by angels… elsewhere, closeted political fixer Roy Cohn denies he has the virus and strives to preserve his reputation. <image:caption>Four people. 2000 years. The feeling of being hunted. Set in Bethesda, North Wales, Tachwedd weaves a powerful narrative of mythology, history, and survival across four distinct eras: 1742, 1902, 1975, and the present day. Performed by a stellar Welsh cast, this play explores the weight of inheritance, the legacy of exploitation, and the haunted land we leave behind. In the same square mile, four individuals across centuries grapple with their ties to place—whether through loyalty, fear, or the painful choice to escape. From royal hunts and religious fervour to a town ravaged by industrial decline, each era reveals how land and identity are inextricably linked. The land they once called home becomes a battleground for survival, burdened by violence and the choices of their ancestors. As Bethesda reels from mass layoffs and the ground beneath them fractures, Tachwedd asks what it means to possess land—and what happens when that land no longer feels like yours. As four generations reel from decisions across time, Tachwedd becomes a story of survival, of losing and reclaiming the place that defines you. Join us for an unforgettable journey into a fractured landscape where past and present collide, and legacies endure. Production shots © WoodForge Studios</image:caption>

<image:caption>“Soon or late the day is coming, Tyrant Man shall be o’erthrown, And the fruitful fields of England, Shall be trod by beasts alone.” As the animals overthrow their human oppressors and seize control, their dream of equality soon twists into tyranny, revealing the dark, corruptible nature of power. In a bold reimagining of Orwell’s Animal Farm, Tatty Hennessy’s adaptation brings the iconic rebellion to life with razor-sharp wit and biting satire. <image:caption>“Mind your own sweetheart; you live longer…” In a shabby, barebones, all-night café-diner, the city’s flotsam and jetsam forlornly wash in. Prostitutes, bums, dealers, addicts, dreamers, runaways, the desperate… the lost. Amongst this meshing of the city’s underbelly, a collection of colourful characters emerge, including Joe, a cynical, ill-informed, small-time dealer in more trouble than he knows; and Darlene, a wide-eyed, naive newcomer, getting more attention than she wants. Together, they might have a shot at escaping the circular, squalid turmoil of life at the edge, but can they do so before it engulfs them? Originally set in 1960s Manhattan, Lanford Wilson’s groundbreaking play paints a pulsating mosaic of overlapping and interrelating speeches as characters and stories buzz and blend together around a common centre. Not only does Wilson starkly illuminate a bleak and terrifying world of young exiles and outcasts in New York’s upper Broadway area, but he simultaneously challenges our expectations of the rules and form of theatre. <image:caption>★★★★★ - The Guardian ★★★★★ - London Theatre ★★★★ - The Stage When you’ve been deceived, even just once, you arm yourself. Adolf, an artist, is hopelessly in love with his new wife Tekla – brilliant, worldly, and enthrallingly unpredictable. But in a quiet seaside hotel, a chance encounter with a persuasive stranger begins to unravel everything he thought he knew. As suspicion takes root and loyalties crumble, revenge is best served cold. Creditors is a darkly glittering masterpiece; a devastating comic thriller about marriage and manipulation. Charles Dance, Geraldine James, and Nicholas Farrell reunite for the first time since The Jewel in the Crown. Each of them have starred in many RSC productions, with Dance also appearing in Game of Thrones, The Crown and The Jackal, James has starred in Downton Abbey and Anne with an E, and Farrell in The Iron Lady and Chariots of Fire. <image:caption>★★★★★ ‘Sumptuous, panoramic, intense…a masterpiece.’ - The Times ‘The stage equivalent of a box-set binge.' - Financial Times 1886. The Empire is at its peak. Business is good for the Forsytes. Over sixty years they have invested, acquired and saved their way towards wealth. But the Forsyte lust for ownership is relentless. Soames’ possessive love for his wife Irene shatters their marriage. Her break for freedom triggers events which reverberate down the generations. John Galsworthy’s Nobel-winning saga about love, ownership and the end of Empire is retold by Shaun McKenna and Lin Coghlan across two plays, spanning over 40 years from 1886 to 1927. Josh Roche revives his acclaimed, two-part production, The Forsyte Saga Part 1: Irene and The Forsyte Saga Part 2: Fleur, with Fiona Hampton, Joseph Millson and Flora Spencer-Longhurst reprising their roles as Irene, Soames and Fleur. Experience the thrilling saga in the Swan Theatre this winter, best enjoyed in one epic day, across two separate days, or equally as sensational as complete, stand-alone plays. <image:title>work - about - “I am interested in how sound can tap into our subconscious.”</image:title>
<image:caption>I am an award-winning composer and sound designer known for my innovative work across a wide range of mediums; including theatre, film, audio dramas, podcasts, installation and commercials. With a passion for storytelling in sound, I aim to bring a unique creative vision to every project, crafting scores and soundscapes which allow us to delve deeper. My musical versatility spans an array of styles, from intimate acoustic composition to grand orchestral scores and experimental ambient soundscapes. I also have a big network of brilliant instrumentalists whose work I can incorporate into my scores. This approach has led me to work with organisations such as The National Theatre, Bristol Old Vic, Southwark Playhouse, The Egg, Nottingham Playhouse and many more. My sound design work has been widely recognised in the industry, earning me nominations for prestigious BBC Audio Drama Awards and securing multiple wins at independent audio drama festivals for my collaborations with indie production companies. I have had the pleasure to work with brilliant production companies such as Goldhawk Productions, Reduced Listening and Allegra Productions. I have also worked on big branding campaigns for companies like Clarks, Netflix and Red Bull. I am particularly interested in how sound can tap into our subconscious and how it can transport us to vivid worlds, both real and abstract. I am interested in silence as a creative tool. I trust simplicity and subtly as I believe our world has far too much stimulus. I don’t want my compositions to be busy but I want them to be luring and hold you. I am also currently working on a project with collaborators from Bristol University and UWE where we are creating innovative technology to sonify scientific data emitted from 8 European forests. I love to embark on projects where we can think about how sound can provide new pathways for connecting with the world around us.</image:caption>
